What’s a “Tap Takeover?”

Craft brew aficionados all around the state know the answer to that one. Gastropubs (restaurants or bars that take food AND beer seriously), will devote several of their taps to a particular brewery on a given day. BACKSTAGE* in Torrington is just such a place, and tonight, Thursday, November 3rd, they will be hosting a Dogfish Head tap takeover.

Tap takeovers are not new to BACKSTAGE. They have already featured Harpoon, Sam Adams, Brooklyn, Otter Creek/Wolaver’s, Thomas Hooker, and Berkshire Brewing. Dogfish is special tonight because it includes what some have called the “holy grail” of American craft brews: Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA… not to be missed.

The Dogfish beers available will be Namaste, Chateau Jiahu, Theobroma, Olde School Barleywine, 60 Minute IPA, 90 Minute IPA, the above mentioned 120 Minute IPA, and Punkin Ale. Executive Chef Keith Bisciotti is offering a special 3-course dinner with 3 beers for just $39:

Namaste Steamed PEI Mussels, or
Special Salad with Namaste Vinaigrette
with Namaste

Moroccan Braised Lamb Tangine, or
Harissa Rubbed Hanger Steak
with 120 Minute IPA

Pumpkin Bread Pudding
with Punkin Ale
(you can oder the complete meal with beers, or any individual item or beer a la carte)
