It’s a joyous day when The Lobster Shack in Branford opens for the season.
With her husband Nick, smiling Arlene Crismale owns The Lobster Shack.
Posted signs inform customers of the various delights available.
Here you see the first customers of the season ordering their food from the right window
and picking it up from the left one.
While customers wait, there are lobster jokes for them to chuckle over.
While many customers take their orders to go, many others use the BYOB picnic area overlooking Branford River.
When customers are done, there is a station for them to bus their tables.
I sit down to enjoy a serving of New England clam chowder,
saving the crackers for hungry moments in my car (because crackers ruin soup and soup ruins crackers),
a bag of Deep River Snacks potato chips
and a chocolate chip cookie,
but most of all, of course, a hot buttery lobster roll probably made with lobster caught by Captain Nick (remember, you can click on photos to enlarge them).
Get your lobster roll and chowder from Arlene—
there’s a table waiting just for you!
