I took my vegetarian younger daughter, a senior in high school, to dinner at The Green Teahouse in New Haven. By the end of our meal, she had declared this relative newcomer her favorite (non-pizza-serving) restaurant.
I completely understood where that came from, being rather enamored of The Green Teahouse myself. Its atmosphere is incredibly relaxing and charming. Its staff is extremely nice. Its teas are wonderful—and its mostly-Asian-themed food superb.
The Green Teahouse’s menu is not vegetarian, but excellent vegetarian options are available. We enjoyed edamame dumplings, a (non-vegetarian) panini sandwich, two different kinds of noodle dishes, and two different desserts. And of course, a wonderful pot of tea.
THE VERDICT: Serving delightful food and drink with Asian flair, the charming Green Teahouse is a superb addition to the New Haven restaurant lineup.
