BurgerFi bills itself as a stylish, eco-minded chain serving grass-fed beef burgers, plus hot dogs, craft beer and wine. But that’s not all there is to know about the chain, which has two Connecticut branches, one in Manchester and one in Avon.
The fledgling chain apparently had its origins in early 2011 in Delray Beach, Florida. There are currently 66 locations, and counting, with the greatest concentration along the eastern seaboard of the United States. The centerpiece of the menu is its all-natural Black Angus beef burgers, but all of its offerings appear to be of great quality. Here’s what we enjoyed with drafts of local craft beer: the Twenty-Eight Burger, the VegeFi Burger, the Kobe-style beef dog, the Cry & Fry (a combination of onion rings and hand-cut fries) and a Black-and-White Shake. In addition to shakes, there are concretes, sundaes, floats and cows.
THE VERDICT: In a world rife with disappointing fast food offerings, BurgerFi in Manchester is a different sort of burger chain.
