Owned by Enea and Cathie Baccie, seasonal Lobster Landing in Clinton offers what many Nutmeggers consider to be Connecticut’s best lobster rolls. After trying them for ourselves, who were we to argue?
The lobsters used in the rolls come from the waters of Long Island Sound, unless there aren’t enough available, in which case they may come from Maine or Nova Scotia.
Originally, the Baccies just sold lobsters, steamers and oysters from their shack located on a wharf. Then about a dozen years ago, they started selling hot dogs, and shortly after that it was an obvious step to lobster rolls. Now they sell delicious buttery lobster rolls, natural all-beef hot dogs, Italian sausage pepper and onion rolls, potato chips, various non-alcoholic drinks and gelato.
Customers order their food, then find a picnic table with a water view to enjoy it. In hardly any time at all, their food is ready. BYOB is allowed, and a lot of customers take advantage of that opportunity. See if you can find a fresher, tastier, juicier lobster roll than Lobster Landing’s!
THE VERDICT: Lobster Landing offers one of the best, many people feel the best, lobster rolls in Connecticut.
